Ready fire aim…

My old boss JK would tell me ready aim fire is how some people operate, less prep more action. Usually things did not go well and we cleaned up a lot of their “stuff”. I believe we have put the work into the fix, improving the boat and are ready to continue traveling South. The new bilge pump works and is a far better install with twice the capacity of the old pump. The second bilge pump works but need an anti siphon valve (arrives Wednesday in Charleston). The dripless shaft is not leaking when we run the diesel. I installed new set screws with the second locking set screw on top, both have Loctite blue on them. I learned this week that the set screws should be replaced every 5 or 6 year. The boat did not have the second set screws when we bought her,my friend Bruce told me about them. Testing at the dock is not the same as testing at sea. We cannot run the diesel hard in gear tied to the dock without damaging the dock and the boat. I hope we can get back to the usual posts. Time will tell.

Carol and I had a nice low key Christmas. We got to talk to all the kids! We hope you had a wonderful safe Christmas or holiday season.
